HOLISTIC APPROACH TO SUPPORT
Assistance in daily management
Peer supporters help individuals figure out how to carry out in their daily lives the self-management and healthy coping plans they have developed with their primary care providers. They use their own experiences with coping with day-to-day challenges and stressors.
Social and emotional support
Through empathetic listening and encouragement, peer supporters are an integral part of helping individuals cope with social or emotional barriers to overcome obstacles to reach their goals. The more we learn about the fundamental value of social support, the more we realize that simply “being there” can be of enormous help to people and coping with mental health and substance abuse problems.
Linkages to clinical care and community resources
Peer supporters can help bridge the gap between the individual and health professionals and encourage them to seek out clinical and community resources when it is appropriate. Especially if a program is part of a provider organization. The peer supporters can also help people find and arrange the care they need.
Ongoing support
Extended over time Peer supporters successfully keeps the individual engaged by providing proactive, flexible, and continual long-term follow-up. They don’t need to talk to people every day, but they can be available when needed – a feature of tremendous value in our current healthcare systems.
We specialize in supporting and helping individuals find their purpose and motivate change.
We also give support to help maintain self sufficiency and enrich life skills.

WHAT IS PEER SUPPORT ?
A RECOVERY SUPPORT
SERVICE
Certified peer supporters are trained and certified in using their lived experience to help others impacted by mental illness or substance use disorders
Peer support allows the person to be comfortable sharing with a person who has lived experience with this same challenge which provides great help to the clinical workforce and aids in long term recovery and prevention.
There are different types of peer support, but they all aim to bring together people with shared experiences to support each other. Providing a space where you feel accepted and understood. Treating everyone's experiences as being equally important.
A non-clinical way of relating to someone.
We take a complete collaborative and solution-focused approach on a supportive level.
THE WHOLE PERSON
By working together, we can identify your strengths, overcome obstacles, and create a plan of action to help you achieve your goals.
In our community, a significant portion of the population faces formidable challenges while navigating various life transitions.
Adults, Adolescent and Youth. Individuals affiliated with mental health and substance abuse organizations, parents, victims of trauma, violence and persons exposed to the foster care system often find themselves in a state of flux, grappling with profound uncertainties and significant life changes.
These transitions, whether due to any of these or other life-altering events, create a unique set of challenges. The lack of tailored and comprehensive support exacerbates the difficulties faced by these individuals, leading to heightened stress, anxiety, and a pervasive sense of hopelessness.
Many find it difficult to set clear life goals, establish financial stability, and cope with the emotional toll of these transitions. As a result, they are often unable to break free from the cycle of instability, mental issues or substance use compromising their overall well-being and hindering their ability to lead fulfilling lives.
The pressing needs of these individuals are multi-faceted.
First and foremost, there is a dire need for Peer Support and specialized guidance that addresses their unique circumstances.
This includes personalized sessions that provide practical strategies for decision-making, goal setting, and stress management.
Financial stability is paramount. Resources that empower them to achieve economic independence are essential.
Equally vital is the need for a safe and inclusive space where individuals can openly share their experiences, fears, and aspirations.
Moreover, there exists a profound need for a supportive community—a network of individuals who have faced similar challenges and triumphed over adversity.
This sense of belonging is not just a luxury but a fundamental human need, especially for those who have experienced significant life disruptions.
Emotional and psychological support, alongside practical skills is essential to empower these individuals to rebuild their lives with confidence.
